Mid range phone and chipset

Just wondering how people here perceived as mid-range phone in terms of price range.

I actually considered sub US$299 as low end Android phones but it seems to me different people will have quite different understanding.

My own understanding of segmentation in Singapore context.
US$500 and above -- high end (roughly above S$700)
US$300 - US$499 -- mid end (roughly S$400 to S$700)
US$299 and below -- low end (roughly below S$400)
