Emirates has introduced the super-jumbo A380 to serve passengers along the Dubai-Singapore route, a direct and non-stop service.
Passengers in first class will get to freshen up with two in-flight shower spas that each has a shower cubicle, vanity unit and wash basin, clothes changing area and toilet. Emirates is the only airline to have this facility for now.
The addition comes as a response to consumers demand.
Emirates manager for Singapore and Brunei, Nick Rees, said: Over the years, we have seen a strong demand on Dubai-Singapore route and Emirates has been boosting its flights services on this route progressively.
With the addition, Emirates will be able to offer about 1,600 seats with its four daily trips on the Dubai-Singapore route. The Airbus A380 flight is one of four for the route, the rest are Boeing 777-300 flights.
It departs Dubai at 3.25am and arrives in Singapore at 2.40pm. The return flight departs Singapore at 9.35pm and arrives in Dubai at 1am the following day.
From 10 December, all five of Emirates daily services from London will use an A380.
From 1 January 2013, New York and Paris get a second daily A380 service.
The airline has the largest A380 fleet in the world, operating 27 of the super-jumbo jets, with more being ordered. Emirates offers at least 20 different routes across the globe with the A380.
The aircraft, though luxurious, has been hit by engine problems on a few occasions.
In November, a Dubai-bound A380 Emirates flight from Sydney was forced to turn back to the Kingsford Smith International Airport after an engine shutdown, Channel NewsAsia reported.
In March, a Singapore Airlines A380 flight headed to Frankfurt, Germany had to turn back to land in Singapore when one of its four engines shut down three hours into the flight, The Daily Mail reported.
