Let's say even after 1 month, the protests don't stop. 1 million people still stand on the street but now they are calling for HK independence. Xi Jinping has had enough and warns the HK protesters that the China army will intervene if they keep this up.
Obviously this pisses off more HK ppl and now 1.5 million takes to the street. Suddenly, the PRC tanks and soldiers start rolling in and shooting.
What would the consequences be for China? Can they legally do this since HK is technically theirs?
