Recommendation for laptop to work during holiday

Hi, would seek your recommendations on laptop models, to be used primarily for some light work during overseas holidays.

Would use using excel and pasting data from excel to email. Mostly copy and paste.

Henceforth, would be looking for a budget laptop under 1k within microsoft office installation. This is in view of very light usage.

Was looking at Microsoft Surface Go, anyone have good experience using it?
