Masturbation is often thought of as one of those things that everybody does but nobody talks about. However, in recent years the conversation around self-love has been opening up more and more - and that's only a good thing. Whether you masturbate every day, or if you've found it's not really for you, there's absolutely no normal - and talking to other people about it will make you realise that. But one UK company has decided to commit to normalising masturbation in... well, quite a creative way, offering staff days off to masturbate. Sex toy company LELO, the maker behind the game-changing LELO Sona Cruise, is offering staff in its UK office four days of annual leave (on top of their usual allowance) just to stay at home and masturbate. Practise what you preach, eh? Dubbed "self love days", LELO staffers are told to devote their extra time off to fulfilling themselves sexually and having as many orgasms as possible. The reasoning behind the idea is that there are plenty of physical and mental health benefits to masturbation. Masturbating and having orgasms releases endorphins and oxytocin (hormones that make you feel good) - which is why LELO believes that "self love days" will make staff happier, less stressed and more productive when they come back into work. "We hope our UK staff use them to do whatever they want to explore their happiness and what makes them tick with the hope that they'll come to work the next day with a spring in their step and be as productive as possible." |
