Private sectors are doing business. They work differently from public/civil services. They need to earn profits from business deal, fast production means more supply to meet the demand fast or else competitors will win. Government on the other hand encourage using Automative systems, IT. Let me ask you. Why the company need to retain older workers even get new workers when fully automative , using technology. The company just employ the Best , only employ just a team will do.
Now PM lee claim work till 70. Just put yourself as a Boss of a SMC/MMC. How come the company afford that. They are not the public service whereby the wages, bonus for the civil servants are taken from taxes, public funds.
Worst rent is so high in Singapore. Expect more SMC/MMC going to move out of Singapore soon.
The solution to retain these SMC/MMC have to control the rental so that these company at least can afford to cater or even open new job for age workers to suit Government Policy.
