The twisted truth. How Kong Hee justified himself to wear very expensive clothes and lead a very lavish lifestyle is through religion and Christianity.
Kong Hees definition of good clothes is very expensive clothes. He read John 19:23-24,
JOHN 19:23-24
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece. They said therefore among themselves, Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be, that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots. Therefore the soldiers did these things.
He explained:
Here, four soldiers were fighting for his undergarments, and they are even happy to have one quarter of each. But the robe too expensive, they said, Hey, listen. We are not gonna cut this, its very expensive, its seamless. So we cast lots for it.
Kong Hee and his fellow pastors love to wear expensive clothes and that might be the reason why he added the word very expensive in these verses to justify himself. He cannot read anywhere in the bible that Jesus had worn expensive clothes so he desperately tried to twist this one.
Remember that the clothes of Jesus at this point were stained with blood all over it, due to all the wounds He had suffered from His enemies, so how could it have any monetary value to the soldiers? So it only means that the soldiers divided Jesus clothes not because they are very expensive but because of some scriptural importance hidden to Kong Hee, that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots. Therefore the soldiers did these things.
Kong Hee seemed to only crave monetary values rather than scriptural values: that of Christianity.
Did Jesus wear expensive clothes at all?? Lets find out.
LUKE 7:25
If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces.
Those who wear expensive clothes are in the palaces according to Jesus Himself. How can Kong Hee accuse Jesus of wearing expensive clothes? Is Kong Hee really ignorant of Christians dress code?
1 TIMOTHY 2:9-10
I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
Christians are being taught to dress modestly, with decency and propriety but Kong Hee does not teach this verse to his members. Pictures of City Harvest Church women in their Facebook accounts showed otherwise.
They are wearing very short pants showing their legs and wearing shirts with their cleavages open for men to see. Are these types of dress considered modest, with decency and propriety as being taught by the bible?
No wonder, Kong Hee teaches that Jesus wore very expensive clothes, which has never happened. He cannot read a verse to prove this. There was no very expensive in the verses that he read. He hopelessly and desperately tries to justify himself. Of course, he failed because Singaporeans in general (with the exception of perhaps the City Harvest Church followers) are not fools.
