Employment status for first time applicant

My bf and I are thinking of applying for the sept BTO, both of us are first time applicants.
However, I just quit my job of 10months while my bf has just graduated from uni.

Is there any rules of us not being able to apply for flats since both of us have unemployed status? Or are we not eligible for HDB loan?

I have worked for more than 1yr at two diff firms. Both perm jobs.
We're worried that we might miss the Sept BTO cause it's near our parents.
